Lozells and East Handsworth Neighbourhood Team Update

Here’s your quick round up from the Lozells and East Handsworth Policing team.

 

Local Crime:

Here are the crime updates for the Lozells and East Handsworth area from 05/06/2025 and 27/06/2025.

 

Douglas Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 5pm on 05/06/2025 and 10;54am on 06/06/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Hyundai. Offenders gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. 

Whitehall Road - Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 11:25pm and 11:31pm on 06/06/2025, two unknown males approached a secure, parked and unattended Toyota. Offenders threw a brick through side passenger window smashing it in the process, gaining entry to the vehicle. Officers stole packages and parcels from inside. 

Church Grove – Distraction Burglary – Between 12pm and 4:11pm on 09/06/2025, unknown male knocked the door of property and asked resident for a drink. Whilst resident was away from front door, offender entered property grabbed a cotton bag containing purse and bank card. 

Howard Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 10pm on 08/06/2025 and 08.40am on 09/06/2025, unknown persons approached an insecure, parked and unattended Ford Focus. Due to the vehicle being insecure offenders gained entry and stole various Dewalt power tools. No damage to vehicle.

Eco Drive – Attempt Burglary – Between 3:45am and 3:55am on 09/06/2025, unknown persons approached property via the side of property where the front door is situated. Offender tried the front door handle to enter the property, however they didn’t gain access. 

Peters Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 11pm on 09/06/2025 and 3.30pm on 10/06/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Vauxhall Astra. Offenders gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. 

Stafford Road – Burglary – Between 6.30pm on 06/06/2025 and 10:15am 10/06/2025, whilst tenant was away on holiday on dates stated above, unknown persons have forced front door open to property. Offenders have caused damage to the front door frame. Items stolen are car keys, iPad, wallet containing credit cards. Volkswagen Golf belonging to tenant was also stolen with keys. 

Carlye Road – Theft of a motor vehicle -Between 4:13am and 4:23am on 17/06/2025, unknown person approached a Nissan Qashqui. Offenders have gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means.

Gibson Road – Burglary – Between 2:55am and 3:04am on 21/06/2025, unknown offenders have climbed through an open window entering property. Offender stole television from property.

Brunswick Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 9:15am and 10:18am on 16/06/2025, unknown persons approached an insecure, parked and unattended BMW 525D. Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means and stole a Huawei P30, phone case contained bank cards.

Burbury Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 6.30pm on 20/06/2025 and 10:30am on 21/06/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Honda Civic. Offenders removed front / rear number plates.

West Drive – Burglary – Between 12.40am and 4:13am on 26/06/2025, unknown persons have gained entry to property by forcing the front door open. Once inside offenders have picked up keys to a Volkswagen vehicle. Offenders have left the address and stolen VW. 

Heathfield Road – Burglary – Between 1pm on 20/06/2025 and 11am on 23/06/2025, unknown persons approached property, smashed the front window to gain access to the property. Once inside offenders have conducted a search of the property. Jewellery items stolen. 

 

 

Good  news:

 

 

  • On 21/06/2025, Pcso’s from the team were delivering leaflets explaining the Public Space Protection Order that’s currently in place covering Handsworth and Lozells area.
  •                                      

     

  • Sgt Lampitt / Mr Handsworth engaging with the community on 14/06/2025.
  •  

     

             

     What we have planned:

     

    Going forward we will make sure our presence within the community is both seen and felt

     

    We plan to continue to patrol schools to make sure everyone is safeguarded.

     

    We will continue our patrols in area's known for anti-social behaviour and drug usage.

     

    And we will continue to build up relations with local groups to allow for us to reach the widest amount of people possible.
